Heaven on Earth 2015, is an extraordinary hands on, destination art workshop in Todos Santos, Baja Mexico. This year’s workshop will be from December 29, 2014- Jan 2, 2015. Our schedule this year is to accommodate teachers that need to get back to their class rooms In January. Our Todos Artes compound will come alive with two and three dimensional printing techniques using clay in an array of unique and creative techniques. Heaven on Earth 2015, Dream Team artists are Jos Sances, Pamela Stefl Toki, and Donna Billick. There is a gourmet lunch provided by world famous chef Iker of Browns Café. The cost of the week instruction, all materials and lunch is $800 US dollars. I can recommend for those interested in a cheap and clean hotel for the week to look into Hotel Gularate or Casita Maria in my neighborhood, no reservation needed. There are higher end casitas listed in my website. The airport you would fly into is San Jose Del Cabo, one hour south of Todos Santos. It is a good idea to book flights as early as possible for a good deal. There is a great new shuttle at Ecobajatours.com, that will pick you up at the airport and take you to Todos Santos In comfort, make a reservation before you make the flight to insure a seat. Heaven on Earth is located very central I town, close to all of the downtown restaurants and shops, one block from historic Hotel California.
Jos Sances, of Alliance Printing in Berkley, will be demonstrating screen printing and slip decals on clay. You will participate with Jos in creating tiles and ceramic plates, in addition to a special Jan 1, New Year’s community build project called the “Tortilla Conspiracy”. Pam Stefl Toki, is going to inspire us with a totally unique monoprinting on clay technique created by Mitch Lyons. Pam will demonstrate and assist you in using clay and mason stains to develop beautiful, permanent works of art that you will be able to transport home. This is going to inspire you beyond words. Donna Billick is owner and director of Todos Artes, home of the Heaven on Earth compound, where there are studios and kilns to accommodate this amazing destination workshop. Donna will work with plaster slabs to carve into for a block print, or linoleum master slab that will be used with clay to pull ceramic flat and dimensional artworks. The clay prints will be fired in the kilns at the Todos Artes facility. The idea is to bring three different artists and unique methods of using clay to make multiples.
